Hertz-Chair for Artificial Intelligence and Neuroscience

Student research assistant to collect data for various VR experiments (8-16 h/week)

The Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Neuroscience at University of Bonn1 is looking for a motivated student assistant to support work in our virtual reality (VR) laboratory.

We use VR experiments to investigate how people behave in stressful simulated situations. The position offers the opportunity to gain experience in scientific data collection, apply academic knowledge in practice, and work in an interdisciplinary research environment.

Tasks:

  • Conducting VR experiments (i.e. guiding participants through the experiment, handling the computers that run the experiments, ensuring everything runs smoothly)

  • Recruiting and scheduling candidate participants

  • Participation in data processing

  • General activities in the laboratory

Requirements:

  • Availability of either 8 or 16 hours per week

  • Current enrollment in a psychology, neuroscience, or related field of study (at least 2nd year B.Sc. or M.Sc. level)
  • Excellent knowledge of German and English
  • Strong social and communication skills

One additional task that may be performed by the applicant is conducting psychodiagnostics interviews. For that reason, having experience with or a keen interest in differential diagnosis would be of advantage, but it is not a strict requirement.
